My Forest Escape

Forests are a place of comfort and provide me with a deep sense of belonging. The history and memories of my time with forests, their dark and ethereal atmosphere all trigger emotional responses which help shape my identity. I’m exploring the connection between significant places (to me) and how they are important aspects of forming identity.

I have not physically been to this particular forest, but I felt a deep connection to the original photograph. I felt like I was escaping when I put charcoal to the paper. I felt like I let go of any worries with every line I marked - it felt as if i was there - nature drawing - What an incredible feeling.
